What is the Stroop Effect?

The Stroop Effect is one of the most well-known psychological phenomena, demonstrating the conflict between automatic and controlled information processing. In this test, you must identify the colour in which a word is written, rather than reading the meaning of the word itself.

  • The word "BLUE" written in red colour.
  • The correct answer is "red", not "blue".

Testing and training based on the Stroop effect improve the brain's ability to:

    • Ignore irrelevant information.
    • Focus on key tasks.
    • Respond faster and more effectively in situations with multiple stimuli.
